Final Score
Fenwick 39 Carroll 27 Carroll and Fenwick met up for Friday night showdown at Carroll High School. This game would be the 2nd and last meeting for the two teams of the year as Fenwick beat the Patriots in December 54-35. Right off the bat, Fenwick’s defense stepped up thanks to the presence of 6-foot-10 Bailey Temming (Sr) in the paint. Their defense got after the Patriots and created problems for them to find a rhythm. After 1, the Falcons led 12-2. The 2nd quarter was much of the same. Fenwick’s size advantage made things difficult for Carroll to both defend and score against in the half-court. The Patriots did get some transition buckets off turnovers, but struggles from the field continued as Fenwick went into the locker room with a commanding 28-10 lead. The offensive struggles shifted in the 3rd quarter as Fenwick began to face some challenges scoring as Carroll intensified their defense. Shawn Seymour (Jr) made hustle plays on both ends of the floor which allowed the Patriots to find some momentum and inevitably sparked a small run. Fenwick still led at the end of the quarter, but Carroll got it down to a 34-21 deficit. The final quarter resulted in a very similar theme. Offensive woes. Carroll would miss 7 straight 3PT attempts as the quarter wore on, and Fenwick left several empty possessions on their end. Fenwick would hold on to win a low scoring 39-27 final score. Temming finished with a double-double ending with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Seymour finished with 15 points in the loss.
